Oxigel 5% Wash is an antibacterial medication for acne treatment. It attacks acne-causing bacteria and may be used alone or with other treatments. Apply a thin layer once or twice daily after washing and drying the affected area. Avoid application on damaged skin and contact with mouth, eyes, and nose. Improvement may take weeks to months. Consult the doctor if no improvement after a month.
Benzoyl peroxide, the active ingredient, exhibits moderate keratolytic and antibacterial action. It produces free-radical oxygen, oxidizing bacterial proteins and working against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis.
